Selected embedded Linux, IoT and firmware projects delivered by Electronics Consult — from ESP32 LoRaWAN devices to Yocto-based prototype boards.

  • Full embedded Linux stack for Meritech’s CleanTech Evo automated handwashing stations — Yocto BSP, OTA updates (SWUpdate + U-Boot), AWS IoT integration, GUI and stepper motor control.
  • Embedded firmware design for a Dublin-based IoT startup, LeakWatch Systems. The work included C++ code development on embedded devices (ESP8266) to communicate securely to remote servers. Also included was Python software development on a Linux-based system to facilitate testing of the communications between the devices and server.
  • Creation of software (JavaScript, HTML) to allow the integration of LoRaWAN devices on The Things Network into ‘Homey’, a home automation ecosystem.
  • PCB design & assembly of a daughter board add-on featuring an ADV7184 for an Analog Devices Blackfin single board computer running embedded Linux.
  • Development & creation of loadable kernel module (LKM) drivers for Linux single board computers.
  • Custom Yocto builds to support customer requirements.
  • Development of Linux Devicetrees to enable hardware on custom builds.
  • Development of embedded graphical user interfaces (Qt & Microchip solutions) on Linux single board computers to meet customer requirements.
  • Development on a Microchip SAMA5D4 Xplained board for an embedded GUI industrial project.
  • Consultation work for a local artist to develop solutions, source components & assemble prototypes to satisfy the illumination requirements of their work.
